Sideloading on iphone without jailbreaking seems impossible but thanks to the developer Riley Testut and his application altstore now sideloading third party app without jailbreaking is now possible
WHAT IS ALT STORE ?
AltStore is an alternative app store for non-jailbroken iOS devices that can be used to sideload ios app (.IPA) files to your iPhone and iPad using just your apple id.
To prevent apps from expiring, AltStore will also periodically refresh your apps in the background when on the same WiFi as AltServer.
HOW DOES ALT STORE WORKS ?
Altstore doesn’t require jailbreak your device instead AltStore resigns apps with your personal development certificate(It tells the phone that your are the developer of the app) and sends them to a desktop app called AltServer, which installs the resigned apps back to your device using iTunes WiFi sync reassigned apps can only works for 7 days the AltStore keep track of the expire days of each apps ,once the apps is near experie you just need to open the alt server and sync with the server to renew the app
HOW TO INSTALL ALT STORE :
Step 1: Go to altstore website and select the macos to download the altserver
Step 2: extract the file and move it to the application folder in the finder
Step 3: open the altserver app(you will see the altserver is running on the menu bar)
Step 4: click the altserver icon and press install mail-plugin
Step 5: after installing mail plug-in open the mail app and open (mail<preference<manage plug-ins)And allow altplug in
Step 6 : Now connect your iphone/ipad to your computer running altserver
Step 7: click on altserver in the menu bar and select install altstore and select your iphone from the menu
Step 8: it will prompt you to enter your apple id and its password (don’t worry it is to send it to apple server no third party will get this information)
Step 9: after its done you will be able to see the altstore in your home screen
If it’s not there wait don’t unplug your cable if it not showing repeat from step 7
Step 10: finally open your setting<general<profile and give permission to the app
Now you can sideload app if you have the ipa files by opening the app and selecting the ipa you want to be installed on the device
